The City of Šibenik is largest city and an administrative centre of Šibenik-Knin county, region with 109,375 inhabitants. It is located in the middle of the Croatian coast of the Adriatic Sea with the population of 45,000 people.
Until 1990, Šibenik was an industrial town, a centre of the aluminium and iron industry.
Today it is a tourist town, a sector that is growing strongly. Šibenik has an extremely rich cultural and natural heritage.
The City of Sibenik is known as a child friendly city, and at the same time it is the holder of the certificate “City for young people”. It stands out in the area of demographic incentives and measures through continuous investment in preschool education, higher education and infrastructure. The City of Šibenik continuously provides support to projects aimed at increasing the quality of life and mental health of young people, and this is precisely one of the reasons for participating in the Re-Act project.
